Well, mine mostly sleeps but they are there! This is Peanut. Let's see those pets that work right alongside you. It isn't perfect and if all you are doing is screen sharing it's overkill, but if you want to be able to deploy software remotely or need to do management tasks on a group of local machines, it works reasonably well.ĭo you work from home or office? Doesn't matter. It's not free (but it's not super expensive-79.99 if I remember correctly) and that is available in the Mac App Store. If you have several Macs that you are looking to manage and connect to remotely, Apple Remote Desktop is a decent tool. You will need to enable screen sharing in system preferences on the remote machine(system preferences->sharing->put a check mark in the screen sharing box) but that would allow you to log in to the remote machine and skip the TeamViewer process entirely. If you are just trying to work on the machine remotely, you might skip TeamViewer entirely and just do the screen share. One other thing you might consider is that the Mac has built-in screen sharing. Once you have just one network connection, try to connect with TeamViewer again. Having two connections is just asking for problems in my humble opinion. Or, you can disconnect the wires-either way, have one network connection and not two. I'd start by turning the wireless off on both machines. It's not mission-critical, but it does make things easier. If you do this, it's a good opportunity to make sure that you are both using the same version. ![]() Verify that both of the machines that you are trying to connect are able to connect and receive connections.Īnother crazy thought is to uninstall and reinstall TeamViewer. ![]() Obviously if there's a network problem, TeamViewer is not going to work. You are 100% sure that both your local network and the remote network are fully functional. ![]() If the remote machine is running version 8 and the local machine is running a version lower than 8, they won't connect.Īre you using the personal license or the corporate license? If you are on a corporate license, you have a limited number of channels, so if you are exceeding the number of simultaneous sessions, you might not be able to connect. The first thing I would do is make sure that both machines are running the same version of TeamViewer. I'm a Mac user who is also a frequent TeamViewer user. ![]()
